Weapons Museum of Santiago de los Caballeros
The museum has a permanent exhibition that shows and relates the Prehispanic and Colonial eras. At the entrance there is a vestibular room, where the visitor is given brief information about the museum. At the beginning of the tour, the visitor is located in the geographical space and is initiated in the knowledge of the development of colonial life during the sixteenth, seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
The visitor can also relate the characters of the paintings, with the role they played in colonial life; as well as knowing the importance of the Church in the colony and its strong influence; introduce itself in the subject of heraldry, as a support of history to be able to trace facts, characters, among others; to know the influence of the guilds of artisans, in the daily way of life, the reasons that gave rise to them, the disciplines that came together to shape them and the influence they exerted in order to achieve a greater social hierarchy. Not being able to miss the exhibition of armament, which is the collection that gives the title to the museum.
